need help deciding form the esp ltd ec 1000 guitar or the new dean deceiver guitar the deceiver?
the dean deceiver is a really new guitar so not many places have it right now i cant even find a review on it but i heard it and it plays awesome so i wanted to compare it to and esp ltd ec 1000 but i dont think its right if i cant hear them on the same amp so i would like some opinions if u have ever played it
Both the ESP ltd ec 1000 guitar and the new Dean Deceiver guitar are my favorite configuration; Two Humbucker pickups, set neck, and fixed bridge. They are derivatives of the basic Les Paul design, and there isn’t a better way to build an electric guitar. The ESP is a little closer to the original (except for the one with the whammy bar, which I would avoid).
But looking at specs and photos will never tell you what you need to know. You really have to find a music store that has both guitars and play them yourself, preferably through the same type of amp you’ll be using. Then you can judge which guitar fits your hands the best and has the best sound for your style of music. Sometimes there are differences between guitars that are even the same model, so keep in mind each guitar is an individual. It’s always best to try every guitar of the same model the store has to find the best one for you personally. Don’t forget to play the guitars standing up with a strap on to check for balance and playing comfort. Considering how many hours you might spend playing the guitar it is vital that it fits you personally and that you won’t mind playing the guitar standing up all night. Last but not least, check carefully for any defects. Look the neck over carefully and make sure the fret work is good and the neck is straight or slightly bowed. Sometimes some bad workmanship, bad materials or damages slip through inspection and a guitar that isn’t right makes it to the dealer. I would strongly advise that you only buy a guitar after you have checked it out in person and are sure you will get along with it.
